 Christmas Box delivers "Christmas in a Box" to people and families in need at Christmas time. The festive season can be a difficult time (both financially and emotionally) for many people. It’s the goal of the Christmas Box project to deliver a gift to those people through a meal they can share with others. The Christmas Box project has been running for 8 years and has delivered over 16,000 hampers. Christmas Box is organised by The Life Centre Trust and boxes are delivered through various community groups. It’s happening again! In November 2009 we will once again be running the Christmas Box online auction to help raise funds. There will be heaps of great items up for grabs so make sure you click the link below and check it out!    Below are three testimonies from families, out of the 1000s we’ve had the honour of assisting, who have been impacted by the Christmas box project. These testimonies sum up the ‘why’ we do what we do….will you come onboard so we can reach more people and families in need at Christmas time? From a family of two tiny children looked after by their grandmother as both their parents have hurt them. The grandmother was really surprised, shocked even, that people would think about wanting to make their Christmas happy – “No one has ever done anything like this before, thank you, thank you”. She burst into tears as the children screamed with joy and excitement. They all live in a small one bedroom flat and despite the grandmother being in her early 70s and not the best of health, she makes huge efforts to take the children to parks and play with them. “We didn’t have anything. I was really upset thinking about Christmas. My babies have done enough crying and I felt so bad about Christmas morning with no presents.” Mum with five and four year girls. One woman has four children under four years and she was so grateful, saying “You have made Christmas possible”. |
