Corporate Packing Day

Corporate Packing Day
Join us for a rewarding team-building experience that truly makes a difference. This year, corporate teams are invited to help pack thousands of Christmas Boxes for families across Aotearoa. In 2026, we’re packing 37,000 Christmas Boxes across New Zealand — including 1,000 boxes for the Cook Islands — delivering hope, dignity, and essential support to families in need.
Set-up Day
Date:
Thursday 26th November
We’re looking for a smaller group of around 30 volunteers to join us for our set-up day ahead of the main Christmas Box packing events.
It’s a varied, hands-on day where you'll work closely with our team – helping trial different packing flows, figuring out the best systems, and packing some boxes too. A bit of problem-solving, a bit of teamwork, and a big contribution to making sure everything runs smoothly for the big days ahead!
Lunch and water will be provided.
Let us know if you’re keen to be involved!

Why a team contribution?
Like many charities, rising food, freight, and supply chain costs — alongside increasing demand — mean we need to be strategic to keep making the biggest impact possible. Each $40 covers packing and delivering one Christmas Box — but the retail value of each box is around $75, filled with essential food and festive treats.
We love welcoming corporate teams to volunteer with us — it’s a powerful way to give back, connect with community impact, and make a tangible difference together.
Because there are real costs involved in running a safe, organised, and meaningful volunteer day — including planning, coordination, and resources — we ask all participating teams to make a contribution to help cover these costs.
If your company is funding the volunteer day:
We ask that you consider sponsoring a family with $40 per volunteer, covering the cost of one Christmas Box. Many companies include this in their CSR, sustainability, or employee engagement budgets. It’s a simple way to give back while your team enjoys a hands-on volunteering experience. Every contribution helps families and lets your team see the impact of Kiwis helping Kiwis in action. We’re happy to provide a donation receipt, impact report, or any info you need for internal approval.
If you're coming on your own initiative or using a paid volunteer day:
We know that sometimes it’s staff-driven, not company-funded. In that case, we suggest a per-person contribution to help us cover costs, and we’re always open to discussing what’s manageable for your team.
Either way, your time and heart make a huge difference — and your support ensures we can continue meeting real needs in our community.
Please reach out if you’d like to talk through what works best for your team — we’re happy to tailor the day and the contribution level to fit your context.

Why a team contribution?
For the first time in 25 years, we’ve introduced a small team contribution. Like many charities, rising food, freight, and supply chain costs — alongside increasing demand — mean we need to be strategic to keep making the biggest impact possible. Each $40 covers packing and delivering one Christmas Box — but the retail value of each box is around $75, filled with essential food and festive treats.

Hands-on volunteering and team building with Kiwis helping Kiwis

“Packing day was honestly one of the best team-building days we’ve ever done. It felt amazing to give back and see exactly where our time and effort were going — we left feeling proud and connected, knowing we’d made a real difference together.”

If your employees are covering their portion of the team contribution, you might also consider matching their donation or giving extra as an organisation to multiply your impact.
